After completing an undergraduate degree with high honors,
Robert M. Cardinale received his Medical Degree from
the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1991.
He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at
Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1994 and was appointed Chief
Resident in Radiation Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital
in 1995.
Dr. Cardinale was certified
by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology
in 1996. He has served in several academic positions,
including Laboratory Investigator at The Johns Hopkins
Oncology Center in 1994, Associate Professor for the
Department of Radiation Oncology, and Clinical Director
of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical
College of Virginia.
He is a member of several
professional organizations, including the Society
for Neuro-Oncology, The American Board of Radiology and the American College
of Radiation
Oncology. His administrative experience includes several committee positions,
including University Senator (alternate), and American Board of Radiology
Written Examination Task Force.
Dr. Cardinale is a nationally
recognized leader in the fields of Radiation Oncology
and Sterotactic Radiosurgery. His special awards and
honors are numerous and include the Resident Teaching
Award from the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr.
Cardinale was elected as a "Best Physician"
by Richmond Magazine, and received the Civilian Award
from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He has written numerous publications in radiation oncology,
including several book chapters, editorials, and abstracts,
and has presented his work at over fifty national and
international scientific meetings.
Dr. Cardinale joined the
Radiation Oncology staff at Princeton Radiology
in 2001, and is a Radiation Oncologist at the Princeton Radiology Pharmaceutical
Research
Center in Princeton. He continues as an active investigator with the
Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.
